About
The places changed. The curiosity didn't.
I was born in Istanbul, spent five unforgettable years in South Africa and now call Zürich home. All three places changed the way I look at people, animals and the small details around them.
My photography moves between Pawtrait Studio, portraits and Quazzi. They look different on the surface. One may start with a dog, another with a person and another with a place.
What connects them is attention to the small thing that makes the image matter: a gesture, a look, a bit of humour, a quiet tension or a moment that says more than it explains.
I do not photograph everything in the same way. I start by understanding why the image is needed. Then I look for the frame that feels honest to that reason.
Sometimes that means slowing a dog down instead of asking for another pose. Sometimes it means helping a person stop performing for the camera. Sometimes it means choosing a photograph for a wall because it keeps saying something each time you pass it.
Different work. Same instinct.
